One of our main initiatives is to promote public safety through a myriad of opportunities for our youth. Quality care for youth takes a village. If our parents, educators, and community leaders could do it alone, they would have done it already. We stand as a village for our youth in education, knowledge of self, recreational activities, and meeting new people.
This year, Project Give Back To Community (PGB2C) is looking to send 100 youth to summer day camps, summer schools, and specialty programs through our fundraising efforts. Donations of six to seven hundred dollars ($600-$700) will cover the cost of summer camps, season passes to theme parks, summer schools, and other opportunities.
Radio One, Inc. is hosting the 16th annual Send-A-Kid 2 Camp radiothon in partnership with PGB2C on Fiday June 3, 2022. In order to continue making our goal a reality, we are asking for your help once again. Your tax deductible donation will provide an opportunity for a child to attend summer camp or specialty programs.
All donations received are made directly to Project Give Back to Community and not Urban One Inc
It is that time of the year when our children are exposed to extreme cold, and some have no coats to keep them warm and safe. We are partnering with others in our community to help solve this problem by raising money to buy coats and accepting brand new coats for donation to our economically disadvantaged children. Please join us to make a difference in the lives of these disadvantaged children by donating brand new coats or by donating money to buy coats for them.
Since 2017 we have provided a home away from home to over two hundred of our returning citizens in partnership with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Our housing initiative is Clo’s House, named after our energetic and passionate co-founder/Executive Director Clovia Lawrence. This emergency housing initiative caters to our VDOC returning citizens within 150-mile radius from the City of Richmond, Virginia.
On March 18, 2021, Governor Ralph Northam visited one of our Clo’s House locations to restore the rights of some residents. The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary of the Commonwealth, Kelly Thomasson. The visit was a recognition and an endorsement of our efforts to promote successful reentry of our returning citizens.
